Piling on the load

In addition to planing a the "Ward Campout" this month and the "Knights of the Round Table" youth dance that is happening in October. I have also volunteered to be the decoration chairman for the Dessert Concert for the Mayfield Orchestra. They plan on having 550 guest and 50 students. It has been fun but it has also been a lot to think about in such a short time. I guess I will just have to follow mine and Tamye's motto "Our best work happens under pressure" our theme for the concert is "Starry Night" from the painting. It has been an inspiration. I will post the photo of the decorations later. Wish me luck!

No More Brace Face

Audriana got her braces off today! It was a very exciting day in the DaSilva home. Audri could hardly stop smiling.

Keeping her in your Prayers

It has been awhile that I have posted anything because I have had so much going on. But I just had to take a minute and share with you a thought. This last Saturday I had a dear friend or at least in my mind she is my friend. John says I need to have my head checked, he is probably right. I guess I should start by telling you that my friend is a woman from Mesa, AZ who has a blog that Tamye (my sister) and I found that we just love reading. She is 27 years old and has 4 small children and a wonderful husband that adorers her, as we do. She is the best little mother and wife that she has left an impression on me. She is a stay at home mom but is always on the go. She is just amazing and has been an inspiration to me. Tamye and some of her friends in Mesa have even created an evening once a month they named after her (NieNie Night) where they do something that she would do for her self or for her family. I’m telling you she is amazing. I wish I could be part of it.

Anyway NeiNie, (Stephanie Nielson) her husband and a friend were in a serious small plane crash this last weekend and the friend did not make it. Nei and her husband are currently in a burn unit and in serious condition. Nei has 80% burns and her husband 30% with other injuries. I have spent the last few days just with this little family on my mind. It is so strange that I feel this way about a woman that I have never met. But if you get a chance check out her blog and get to know her and you to will feel the pain of this sweet family. I hope with all of the many prayers that are being said for them they will have a quick recovery. And her children will have their Mommy back home and safe. Thanks for taking the time to here me vent. I just had to share.

I have Nei’s blog link to the right of the screen you can’t miss it. I hope you have as much fun as I have reading her thoughts.

Tamye came for the weekend

Tamye came for the weekend to visit. It was short but well worth it. We spent all of Saturday shopping. We were wiped out by the time we finished. She then took Audriana back with her for the week. I was hoping to go my self but I wasn't feeling up to the drive. Maybe in a few more weeks. Anyway I got to see my Sterling, he is so cute!

Day at the Lake with our Friends!

Swimming with the fish!

April taking a stroll down the beach

John was working in Tor C and came around noon to join in the fun.

Oops, where did the boat go? The boat kept loosing air and then the kids would sink while they were trying to get back to shore. It was super funny watching them trying to paddle back.

Who knew the lake would be this FUN!

Courtney & Gabbi soaking up the S-U-N

Audriana's great idea. We couldn't figure out how the darn thing went together (hence no instructions in the bag) So Audri suggested we tie it between the cars. It worked out well I think.

The Boat!

April and I took the kids and some of their friends to the Lake yesterday. We had a blast just hanging out and getting burned; some of us more then others.

Rain, Rain go away!

It has been raining here for the last 6 days off and on; when it comes down it comes hard and fast. We have so much water all I need is some sand and I could have my own beach. The kids are loving it. I personally would rather just have the heat with out the humidity. The forecast says we still have a few more days. Great!

Nonny is under the weather

Jenna is not feeling well today. She has been barfing all day today. It is so sad; she said that it was not very fun to be sick on a day off, only when you miss school. And here I thought that she loved school.

4th of July Weekend

The Kiddie Kats.

While I was backing the trailer I broke something important. OOPS!

Morning attitude! (it did get better)

John and his kitchen.

Devin making breakfast. We just loved his runny eggs.

Our camp site.

This was all the fun there was, taking photos of yourself.

We went camping on the 4th in Cloudcroft, NM. It was so HOT! I came back burned to a crisp. I had a real desire for it to be a nice relaxing weekend and it turned out to be stressful with my children board to death. We should have gone to the Gila's where the weather would be nice, and a lake to fish in, Kidd's entertained, and me left to relax. Instead we decided to stay in the campsite appropriately named "Grand central station" by yours truly. A nice cozy campsite right off the highway, with a big sign that said "public rest stop" inviting just about every one to pull in and turn right back out. Even though we could here every car pass by all day and all night, and it was extremely hot, and insanely boring. We still had a great time... I think. ;)

She's Back!

They got to go repelling. Too Cool!

Can you find anything brighter in the forest?

Good Morning! Or was that afternoon?

Just hanging out at the Gila. I am told that just down the river here is the best pee spot ever. hmm?

Vicki & Audri

The Gangs all here!

We just picked Audriana up. She is home from Girl's Camp. She said she had the best time ever. I guess all that jogging in the evening paid off, She said it was a breeze. She said she learned a lot about hiking and getting along with out a mirror and lip gloss. She didn't as many photos as I would have liked but oh well, here they are.

Our very own ROCK STAR!

I wonder if he can get us back stage into the cool concerts? You can see more of Devin and Audriana's Photography shoots HERE

My Ride

My poor van is sick. It is so sad, and I still can't get her fixed until Monday. John took her down to the mechanic and she has a bad Cadillac converter. I think there are days that I have the same problem. (making screaming noises, putting off a lot of bad exhaust and no power to move fast) Wish us both luck!

Girl's Camp

Here is Audri's back pack all ready to roll for her 4th year hike. It looks heavy but it wasn't to bad (30 lbs) with her water. We should have some fun photos when she gets home.

On the way home - Soda Dam

This is by the Music Camp

We stopped at Soda Dam on the way home from picking Devin up. It was a really cool place to stop and swim. The rocks had a strange formation and it had the smell that you find in Yellow Stone park. Yuck! We didn't swim but we watched other people swim. I don' t think the kids were very happy with me because I wanted to keep moving. But really people how much of the smell can one person take?

Home Sweet Home

Wow! What a Dork!
I'm not sure but I have to ask, is that poop on my leg?

Mr. Poff

The kids at the camp.

Devin in the center with his cello.

We're back from picking Devin up from music camp. We all had a nice drive and a good time. Although it does not go without incident, as you can see from the photo. I was walking in the park to set up my chair to watch the out door concert the Music Camp was putting on and I basically did the splits in a very deep puddle of water. And this happened just as the buses of kids were pulling in, so you can say I put on a good show for everyone. I am sure Devin was very proud of his graceful mother.

Devin said he had a great time. He has tons of stories to share of all the fun things that they did and the new friends he made. He also said that he wants to do it again next year. Yeah!
The cool thing was that Devin got to go up with Mr. Poff his Cello Teacher. He is the one in the blue shirt playing the violin.
